Davy Architecture recently completed a 16,000 SF, single-story, new Child Development Center for Palomar College.  The design employs a balance among playful geometrics, natural materials, and neutral hues.  The new facility has replaced existing temporary buildings, which include administrative offices, classrooms, and expansive outdoor play areas.  The new center will serve the child care needs of campus staff and faculty, as well as the College’s Early Childhood Development Associate’s degree curriculum.

The project is aiming for LEED Gold certification for New Construction in San Diego County.  The new facility will is energy-efficient, environmentally-friendly, and sustainable.  The children’s spaces are designed to offer an abundance of natural daylight and ventilation, to enhance the learning environment, conserve natural resources, and enrich the program’s indoor/outdoor teaching activities.
