Ric Davy, NCARB, USN Ret.
Senior principal Architect
Prior to Ric’s career in architecture, he was a decorated Air Force Fighter pilot with 190 combat missions in Vietnam. He studied theater design at Cambridge University, and received his Master of Architecture degree from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design in 1979. He later joined the Naval Reserve Civil Engineer Corps, and served as the Civil Engineer for Naval Forces Central Command in Bahrain during Operation Desert Storm.
Ric founded Davy Architecture in 1984, and as Senior Principal Architect has devoted his career to providing exceptional design services to our local communities’ educational, institutional, commercial, healthcare, residential, and hospitality projects. He delivers the best value and optimum sustainable design to our clients. He has a national architectural registration through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and is licensed to practice in California, Arizona, Colorado and Nevada.
Ric actively serves as a visiting critic at the NewSchool of Architecture and Design; he is a mentor for the ACE High School mentorship program; he is a member of the YMCA Camp Board, HIP (Housing Innovation Partnership) Board, East Village IDEA District Planning Committee, and the Rotary Club. He is also an active member of the California Charter School Association San Diego region, and the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (CASH).
